T. MYRNE JONES

Teletha Myrne Jones, the daughter of Tosten H. and Alma (Thompson) Strand was born April 11, 1915 on the family farm near Primghar, IA. She spent her youth on the farm in a family of six. Their farm was a popular gathering place for friends and relatives, some as far away as Norway. After graduating from Primghar High School in 1933, she attended I.S.T.C., now the University of Northern Iowa. She was an honor student and a member of the Purple Arrow Society. She taught country school in Center Township for one year. On June 25, 1935, she was united in marriage to Marlin Russell Jones of Paullina at her parent’s home. For a short time after their marriage they lived in Paullina, then Summit Township, before moving to their own farm in Dale Township in 1939. In 1970, they moved to an acreage near Marshalltown, IA, returning to Primghar in 1989. Her husband preceded her in death on March 6, 1998 in Primghar. Myrne lived in her home until becoming a resident at Kuiper Villa in Sanborn, IA. She passed away on July 8, 2006 at the age of 91 years, 2 months and 27 days.

Vernon, IA; Karen and her husband, Charles Schutt of Sioux Falls, SD; Dorothy and her husband, Gordon Louden of Grinnell, IA; Gary and his wife, Bronlyn Jones of Charles City, IA; Kristine Stoddard of Titonka, IA; and Michael and his wife, Shirley Jones of Primghar, IA; 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren an 1 great-great-grandchild, a brother-in-law, Arthur Brown of Bettendorf, IA; a sister-in-law, Vivien Jones of Paullina, IA; and other relatives and friends.

Jesus said,
“In my Father’s house are many rooms;
if it were not so would I have told you
that I go to prepare a place for you?
And when I go and prepare a place for
you, I will come again and will take
you to myself, that where I am you
may be also. And you know the way I
am going.”

“I am the way, and the truth,
and the life;
no one comes to the Father,
but by me.”

“Because I live, you will live also.”

John 14:2-6, 19
