STEVEN M.HERWIG

Steven Mark Herwig, the son of Wayne and Charlotte (Long) Herwig was born on March 30, 1957 in Cherokee, Iowa. He moved with his family to Paullina, Iowa where he received his education from Paullina High School, graduating in 1975. He enlisted in the United States Navy and served in the North Atlantic. He worked as an RTW for the Mental Health Institute in Cherokee, Iowa. He then attended Iowa Lakes Community College majoring in accounting. After graduation he worked as a bookkeeper in Armstrong, Iowa and then for JD Transportation in Paullina. Steve passed away on March 31, 2016 at St. Lukes Unity Point Hospital in Sioux City, Iowa reaching the age of 59 years and 1 day.
Steve was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Paullina. He enjoyed fishing, his German Shephard dogs, driving around and listing to blues music.
Left to cherish his memory is his brother, Frank Herwig of Paullina, Iowa; a sister, Carol and her husband, George Morgan of Washington, DC; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Wayne Herwig.
