SHARON KAYE UITTENBOGAARD

Sharon Kaye Uittenbogaard, the daughter of William and Sarah (Van Aalsburg) Uittenbogaard was born on December 24, 1945 in Sheldon, Iowa. She graduated from Sioux Valley, Minnesota High School in 1963 and Nettleton Business College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Her life was spent in service to others, working at Spirit Lake Hospital, as a nanny for many years for the Pothoff family in Omaha, Nebraska, as a houseparent at The Nebraska Children’s Home and most recently as a day care worker for five years, as well as an active volunteer at the Village Treasure Chest, and Oak Park Care Center in Sheldon. Sharon passed away at her residence on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 reaching the age of 66 years, 1 month and 8 days.
Sharon was an active member of Bethel Reformed Church, where she enjoyed helping in the nursery and participating in Bible Studies and small group activities. Her strong faith and determination were an inspiration to all who knew her.
She is survived by her mother, Sarah Uittenbogaard of Lake Park, IA; her sisters, Marcia and Vern Hanson of Mankato, Minnesota and Joan and David Kinrade of Newnan, Georgia; 4 nieces, Jodi and Trent Schema of Faribault, Minnesota; Gina and Brandon Jaeger of Janesville, Minnesota; Emily and Andrew Carnes of Waco, Texas; Rachel Kinrade of Newnan, Georgia; a nephew, Eric and Corie Hanson of Mankato, Minnesota; 5 great nieces and nephews, Carson and Grifin Schema, Katlyn and Hunter Jaeger and Isabelle Hanson.
Sharon was preceded in death by her father, William Uittenbogaard in April of 2003.
