RANDY C. HALVERSON
Randy Carl Halverson, the son of Francis and Phyllis (Klinker) Halverson was born on March 23, 1962 in Cherokee, Iowa. He was baptized and later confirmed at the Zion United Church of Christ in Calumet. He attended and graduated from Sutherland High School in 1981. He was united in Marriage to Amy Scott on February 6, 1987 in Cherokee, Iowa. After their marriage the couple moved to Primghar where Randy worked in the maintenance and custodial department at the O’Brien County Courthouse. He passed away at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska reaching the age of 50 years, 11 months and 29 days.
He was a member of the United Church of Primghar where he served as Trustee. He was also a past Jaycee member and president and also served on the Primghar Fire Department for many years, serving as Fire Chief from 2003 to 2007. He enjoyed traveling to Cancun with his family every year. He enjoyed fishing and cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Minnesota Vikings.
Left to cherish Randy’s memory is his wife, Amy of Primghar; two children, daughter, Heather Halverson and her fiancé, Adam Pottebaum of Bellevue, Nebraska and son, Luke Halverson of Primghar; his mother, Phyllis Jones and special friend, Richard Kruckman of Primghar; two brothers, Jeff and his wife, Jolene Halverson of Sutherland, Iowa and Doug and his wife, Pam Halverson of Peterson, Iowa; a sister, Sheila and her husband, Darrell Kleihauer of LeMars, Iowa; parents in law, Gayle and Mary Scott of Cherokee, Iowa; sister in law, Angie and her husband, Mike Fiedler of Cherokee, Iowa; step sister, Amy and her husband, Deryl Van Winkle of Fountain, Colorado; step brother, Donald and his wife, Laurie of Volga, South Dakota; also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Francis Halverson and step father, Donald Jones and a sister, Vickie Halverson.
Randy’s pride and joy were his children; he valued his family life.
