PEGGY “PEG” A. PETERSEN

Peggy Ann Petersen, the daughter of Milton and Betty (Lane) Roberts, was born May 5, 1956 in Spencer, Iowa. She attended Spencer schools and graduated from Spencer High School in 1974. She went to work for Younkers. On August 10, 1979, she was united in marriage to Jerry Lee Petersen at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer. The couple later divorced. The couple made their home near Sutherland, where Peg operated Peg’s Floral until 1998; she moved her business to Paullina and operated Peg’s Floral until ill health forced her retirement. Since 1998, Peg has made her home in Primghar. She passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at the Baum-Harmon Mercy Hospital in Primghar, reaching the age of 50 years, 2 months and 14 days.
She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Primghar and had taught CCD classes. She was a member of the Primghar Golf and Country Club and played in the ladies league. She enjoyed biking, running, golf, swimming and spending time with her family.
Peg leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Anthony Ray Petersen of Waterloo, IA; Jennifer Sue and her husband, Derek Griebel of Paullina, IA; and Andrew Lee Petersen of Primghar, IA; her parents, Milton Roberts of Spencer, IA; and Betty Roberts of Loveland, CO; her brothers and sisters, Terry and his wife, Judy Roberts of Loveland, CO; Rodney Roberts of Loveland, CO; Kevin Roberts of Spencer, IA; Linda and her husband, Dan Borchard of Alba, TX; Kim and her husband, Kurt Karnstedt of Lone Tree, IA; and a special friend, Jim Streufert of Sutherland, IA; many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
