MILDRED B. LARSON



Mildred Beatrice Larson, the daughter of James and Katherine (Scott) Callahan, was born January 3, 1908 in Humboldt, Iowa. She received her education in the Humboldt School and went on to receive her teaching certificate. She taught in the Humboldt area for 5 years. Mildred was united in marriage to Leonard Larson on July 21, 1930 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Humboldt. After their marriage the couple made their home in Spencer, Iowa. In 1938, they moved to Sheldon, Iowa were they owned and operated the Larson Furniture Store until their retirement in the early 1950’s. Leonard preceded her in death on September 24, 1997 in Sheldon, Iowa. Mildred remained in the family home until moving the Sanford Senior Care in Sheldon in April of 2000. Mildred passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2008, at the Sanford Senior Care in Sheldon, Iowa, reaching the age of 100 years and 1 month.
She was member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church of Sheldon.
Mildred leaves to cherish her memory a sister-in-law, Elaine Callahan of Sheldon, Iowa; numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents; two brothers, Joe and Laurence Callahan and a sister, Bernice Sorenson.
