A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date for Matthew A. Stellinga, age 49, of Sheldon, Iowa who passed away on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at his home in Sheldon.

Matthew Allen Stellinga age 49 of Sheldon, IA passed away June 19, 2021
Matt was born April 25, 1972 in Sheldon to Marlin and Marlys (Groen) Stellinga. He graduated from Sheldon High School and continued his education at the Denver Institute of Art in Dever CO. Matt was a very talented artist who painted flames on motorcycles and cars, drew tattoos for friends, and drew many other sometimes inappropriate drawings that would make his beloved art teacher Mr. Tuttle shake his head and smile.
Matt married his High School sweetheart, Vickie (Bruns) Stellinga in 1999 and not only gained a wife but an 8 year old Step-Daughter Tara. Their son Zachary was born in 2002. Matt and Vickie were married for 18 years and this family of 4 enjoyed life with lots of laughter. Matt was always doing something to make people laugh and was always the life of the party.
Matt worked various jobs mostly as a CNC machine operator and on weekends would work on his many "project" cars, another thing he was very passionate about. He would go across town to Bomgaars to pick up some nuts & bolts and come back with an entire junk truck to fix. He loved going to Car Shows & Cruise Nights and play frisbee Golf with Zac.
Matt is survived by his parents Marlin and Marlys Stellinga of Sheldon, IA, sister Angie (Chris) Johnson Spencer, IA, Son Zac Stellinga Sheldon, IA, Step-Daughter Tara Ferguson Ashton, IA, Niece Stephanie Lowery Florence SC, Nephew Ben Knotts Florence SC, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Delmar and Engeline Groen and Allen (Red) and Ellen Stellinga.
In Lieu of flowers condolences can be sent to Zac Stellinga 434 Wyman Street Sheldon, IA 51201. A celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
