MARVEEN M. LANGE

Marveen Mae Lange, the daughter of Murvin and Marie (Taylor) Hopkins was born January 9, 1933 in Primghar, Iowa. She received her education in O’Brien County rural schools. On April 16, 1950 she was united in marriage to Louis Lange at St. John Lutheran Church in Germantown. After their marriage the couple farmed two and a quarter mile east of Germantown where they raised their four children Patsy, Greg, Jim and Jodene. The couple moved into Paullina in December of 1989 to make their home. She passed away on Thursday August 30, 2012 at the Orange City Area Health System reaching the age of 79 years 7 months and 21 days.
She was baptized on June 9, 1940 at the First Congregational Church in Primghar and later confirmed on December 2, 1950 at St. John Lutheran Church in Germantown where she has been a member for over 60 years. She was a wonderful cook and made the best pies around. The loves of her life were her husband, children and grandchildren. She loved to teach her grandchildren songs and sing to them.
Marveen leaves to cherish her memory her husband Louis of Paullina, children Patsy and her husband Larry Schwebach of Paullina, Greg Lange of Mason City, Iowa, Jim and his wife Brenda Lange of Paullina and Jodene and her husband Lonnie Woock of Spencer, eight grandchildren Tracy Frerk of Nevada, Iowa, Mike and his wife Sofie Schwebach of Sioux Center, Iowa, Chris and his wife Dorothy Lange and Kari Lange and fiancé Patrick Kent all of Des Moines, Jamie Woock and her fiance John Ingledue, Lindsey Woock, Jesse Woock and Lucas Woock all of Spencer, Iowa, six great grandsons and two great granddaughters, brothers and sisters Gretchen Louderback of Battle Creek, Iowa, Keith and his wife Noreen Hopkins of Concan, Texas, Jeanette Endorf of Sanborn, Iowa, Marian Anderson of Round Rock, Texas, Ken (Butch) and his wife Dayle Hopkins of Tifton, Georgia, Nancy Huff of Sheldon, Iowa, Jean and her husband Phil Snyder of Sanborn, Iowa and Jane and her husband Ken Conaway of Council Bluffs, Iowa, a sister and brother-in-law Verlie and Walt Hibbing of Houston, Texas and brother-in-law Bill Ruchensky of Sioux City, Iowa also other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, mother and father in-law, three brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law.
