MARGARET R. DYKSTRA
Margaret Ruth Dykstra, the daughter of Mason and Clara (Talsma) Dykstra, was born June 2, 1931 on the family farm near Hospers, Iowa. She received her education in country school and later graduated from Sheldon High School in 1949. She went on to X-Ray Technician School at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Sioux City, Iowa. After her training, she moved to Madison, Wisconsin in 1963. She worked in the X-Ray Department at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, until ill health forced her retirement in 1989. In her retirement she did many hours of volunteering at her church, the Bethel Lutheran Church and at a school near her home in Madison. Margaret passed away on Sunday, March 11, 2007, at the Don and Marilyn Anderson Hospice in Madison, Wisconsin, reaching the age of 75 years, 9 months and 9 days.
She was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church in Madison.
Margaret leaves to cherish her memory, one brother, Clarence Dykstra of Sheldon, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Edna Dykstra of Sheldon, Iowa; nieces, nephews and a good friend, Julie Eyers of Madison, Wisconsin; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Gerritt and Maynard Dykstra; two sisters, Tillie Ten Clay and Jennie Ten Clay; a brother and sister in childhood and a nephew, Keith Dykstra.
