M. TEDDIE PUHRMANN
M. Teddie Mae Puhrmann, the daughter of Gerritt and Hilda (Visser) Willemstein was born August 8, 1930 in Doon, Iowa. She moved with her family to several towns and finished her education in Hartley, Iowa. On April 13, 1947, she was united in marriage to Martin Puhrmann in Hartley, Iowa. The couple’s married life was spent in the Paullina area where Teddie was employed at Brockmann’s Fryers, Millie’s Rest Home in Sutherland, Cherokee Hospital in Cherokee, and Wide View Rest Home in Paullina and before she retired Monte’s Steak House in Paullina. Her husband preceded her in death on February 9, 2010 in Paullina. Teddie continued to make her home in Paullina. She was stricken at her home and passed away suddenly on Sunday, October 21, 2012 at the Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa reaching the age of 82 years, 2 months and 13 days.
She was baptized in Doon, Iowa and later confirmed into the Lutheran faith and was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina. Family was very important to Teddie; having family coffees or going to her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s events were always things Teddie enjoyed. She also enjoyed country western music.
Teddie leaves to cherish her memory her children, four sons; Miles and his wife, Mary Puhrmann; Mark and his wife, Jacque Puhrmann; Monte Puhrmann and Kim Koehlmoos and Mike and his wife, Nancy Puhrmann all of Paullina; one daughter, Melinda and her husband, Dirk Hansen of Paullina; also 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters-in-law, Emily Meyer and June Miller of Marcus, Iowa and Audrey Puhrmann of Paullina; also many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Puhrmann; her parents, two sisters, Virginia Puhrmann and Mary Smith.
