Loretta Wilkinson Petersen, age 85, of Sibley, Iowa, formerly of Sheldon, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at the Country View Manor in Sibley. Funeral Services will be Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at the Andringa Funeral Home Sheldon Funeral Service in Sheldon. Pastor James Sickmeyer officiating. Burial to follow at East Lawn Cemetery in Sheldon. Visitation will be Saturday, prior to the Funeral Service from 9:45 A.M. to 10:45 A.M. at the Andringa Funeral Home Sheldon Funeral Service in Sheldon. Loretta Jean Wilkinson Petersen was born on March 2, 1934 in Sheldon, Iowa. She was the daughter of Steve and Hattie (Stapert) Siebersma. She live her youth in Sheldon where she attended the Christian Grade School. She was united in marriage to Leroy Wilkinson of Sheldon on June 19, 1952 in Sheldon. They lived in Sheldon where Loretta and Leroy were very active in Cub Scouts. Leroy passed away in 1977. She met Jack Petersen of Mankato, Minnesota while going to dances. They were united in marriage on February 3, 1979 in Sheldon. They lived in Worthington, Minnesota where Loretta was a member of the Worthington Baptist Temple. Jack passed away in 2004. Loretta's passion was music. She enjoyed singing and being involved in the Bell Choir at the Country View Manor in Sibley, Iowa. She also liked playing cards and going to rummage sales. Her family was important to her. She enjoyed family gatherings and the annual fish fry. Loretta will be remembered as a very sweet, gentle person with a great attitude towards life. She had a strong Christian faith and her home was always open to all. She passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at the Country View Manor in Sibley. Those left to cherish her memories are her children, Larry Wilkinson, Debra (Bill) Collingwood, Robin (Lance) Juarez; daughter-in-law, Glenna Wilkinson; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Joan Siebersma. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Leroy Wilkinson; her second husband, Jack Petersen; son, Robert Wilkinson; brothers, Cornie Siebersma, Julius "Nuke" (Anna Mae) Siebersma, Steven "Bud" (Fern) Siebersma; sisters, Jennie "Jake" VandenBerg, Lucy (George) Wibben, Geraldine (Elmer) Borgman.
