LINDA K. PITMAN

Linda Kay Pitman, the daughter of Stanley J. and Lucille M. (Petersen) Pitman was born on August 31, 1948 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Linda grew up and spent her youth in Humboldt, Iowa. Since 1979, Linda has been a resident of Village Northwest in Sheldon, Iowa. Although Linda bravely fought Cerebral Palsy, it never stopped her from enjoying her life, her family, and her friends. She was a proud participant in Special Olympics for many years, winning numerous ribbons and medals. She was blessed with a wonderful sense of humor which was obvious to anyone who knew her and was always the leader of many practical jokes. Linda was extremely social, an avid country music fan, and loved to be the life of the party. Linda passed away peacefully on August 3, 2010, at Community Memorial Health Care Center in Hartley, IA reaching the age 61 years, 11 months and 3 days.
Linda was an active member of the United Methodist Church and the Village Northwest family both of Sheldon.
Linda was an inspiration to everyone she met and will be sadly missed by all of her family and friends, both near and far. That sparkle in her eyes meant the world to all of us.
She is survived by her brother and his wife, Jim and Kris Pitman of Madison, Wisconsin; a niece, Haley; a nephew, Colin; and other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents.

Linda’s family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff and residents at Village Northwest for their loving care, kindness, and friendship over the years. The family would also like to thank the staff at Community Memorial Health Care Center for making her last few months comfortable and enjoyable and the staff from Iowa Hospice who looked over her in her final days.
