Judith Putzke, age 74, of Sheldon, Iowa, passed away on Friday, August 5, 2016 at Sanford Sheldon Senior Care in Sheldon. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at Andringa Funeral Home Sheldon Funeral Service in Sheldon. Ken Ver Steeg officiating. Burial to follow at Riverview Cemetery in Rock Rapids, Iowa. Friends may visit on Wednesday, August 10, from 10:00 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. prior to the funeral at Andringa Funeral Home Sheldon Funeral Service in Sheldon. Judith Louise Putzke was born on March 28, 1942 in Carlton, Minnesota. She was the daughter and only child of Robert and Ella (Anderson) Putzke. She lived her youth in Rock Rapids, Iowa and attended Rock Rapids Elementary School. In 1958, she moved to Glenwood, Iowa and lived at Glenwood State Hospital School. Judith moved to Sheldon, Iowa in 1979 and lived at Village Northwest Unlimited until 2013. She enjoyed her life at the Village and took a special interest in the staff's family and extended family. She enjoyed animals and adopted a puppy she named Chee Chee. Judith would bring it to her home and then back to the kennel when she was finished playing with it. She liked traveling and went on a couple of cruises and also to Las Vegas with Paul and Sandy Wollmuth, who were very special to her. Bonita Elgersma was also a good friend to Judith. She liked to challenge herself and find the hidden acorn in "Birds and Blooms" magazine and she always found it. She enjoyed spending time fixing puzzles, coloring, playing Uno, and shopping. Judith had a strong will and was very determined. She liked to push her boundaries but if she knew she was wrong she was quick to say "I still love you, though". Judith moved to Sanford Sheldon Senior Care in 2013 where she passed away on Friday, August 5, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
