Jeannette Mouw

Jeannette Mouw, age 85, of Hull, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at her home in Hull. Memorial Services will be Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, rural Hull, Iowa. Rev. Aaron Deutsch officiating. Private Graveside Service at 9:30 A.M. on Saturday, November 12, at East Lawn Cemetery in Sheldon, Iowa, prior to Memorial Service. Visitation will be Friday, November 11, from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. with the family present from 6:30 to 8:00 P.M. at the Andringa Funeral Home Sheldon Funeral Service in Sheldon. Jeannette "Granny" Mouw was born on January 6, 1931 in Rock Rapids, Iowa. She was the daughter of Johannes and Dorothy (Oostendorp) Doorneweerd. She lived her youth and attended a country school in Rock Rapids. She was united in marriage to Cornelius "Casey" Mouw on December 5, 1947 in Hills, Minnesota. After their marriage they lived in Lester, Iowa until moving to Sheldon, Iowa. Jeannette worked at the Sheldon Community School and Sheldon Hospital and Nursing Home for several years. Casey passed away on October 21, 1982. In June of 2000, Jeannette moved to Hull, Iowa. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in rural Hull, Iowa. Jeannette enjoyed crocheting, quilting, fixing crossword puzzles, watching sporting events on TV and spending time with her family. She passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, November 8, 2016. Those left to cherish her memories are her children, Karen Strouth of Sibley, IA, Daryl Mouw of Lincoln, NE, Arlyn (Kathy) Mouw of Canton, GA, and Janet (Nick) Kooiker of Hull, IA; grandchildren, Kip (Julie) LaFrenz of Sioux Falls, SD, Curt (Emily) Strouth of Sheldon, IA, Joe Strouth of Oakland, CA, Jonathan Mouw and Jordan Mouw of Canton, GA, Casey Kooiker of Hull, IA, Will Kooiker of Jennison, MI, Krystal Kooiker of Sheldon, IA, Mitchell Kooiker (Kenzee DeStigter) of Hull, IA, Jacob Kooiker of Brookings, SD; great grandchildren, Reese, Gavin, Norah Strouth and Kennedy Kooiker; two sisters, Alyce Nelson of Luverne, MN, and Dorothy DeRoo of Brooten, MN; sister-in-law, Leah Doorneweerd of Hills, MN; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Casey; son-in-law, Richard "Dick" Strouth; her parents; two brothers, Joe Doorneweerd and Dick Doorneweerd.
