IVA JANE FROHWEIN

Iva Jane Frohwein, the daughter of Frank Nick and Flossie Ellen (Heiliger) Frohwein, was born February 16, 1925 on the Frohwein farm northeast of Sheldon, Iowa. She attended rural school at Floyd District No. 8 and later Sheldon Public school, graduating from Sheldon High School in 1944. She was employed for over 5 years as a bookkeeper at Arnold Motor Supply in Sheldon and later worked a number of years for the Woods family at the Sheldon-Mail newspaper in Sheldon. For nearly 30 years, she was employed as the secretary at the Sheldon United Methodist Church. She was also the Sheldon correspondent for the Daily Globe in Worthington, MN. from 1966 until her retirement. She lived with her family at the family home on 10th street for 49 years until moving in 2004 to Fieldcrest Assisted Living in Sheldon. She later lived at Prairie View Retirement Home in Sanborn until moving to Sanford Sheldon Health Center Senior Care in January of 2006. She passed away at the senior care on Friday, November 30, 2007 reaching the age of 82 years, 9 months and 14 days.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Sheldon and the United Methodist Women of the church and served on many committees as well as board secretary for over 20 years. From the age of 5, she played the piano, playing for Sunday school and the Methodist Women. She also wrote poetry, enjoyed baking cookies, watching movies and working crossword puzzles.
Iva Jane is survived by two nephews, Earl Hulst of Urbandale, Iowa and Eldon Hulst of Des Moines, Iowa; also other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Marion Frohwein and Ethel Hulst.
