HELEN C. KRUGER

Helen Clara Kruger, the daughter of Rinehard and Carolyn (Kruse) Fegebank was born, July 24, 1925 in Baker Township near Paullina, Iowa. She attended country school and graduated from the 8th grade on June 2, 1939 at the head of the class. On May 8, 1947, she was united in marriage to Ralph W. Kruger at the home of her sister and husband, Ida and Clarence Paulsen in rural Granville, Iowa. The couple spent most of their married life in the Paullina area. Helen was employed at the Paullina School as a cook for 25 years and she also worked at the Martin House in Paullina. Her husband preceded her in death on October 29, 2010 in Hartley, Iowa. Helen had been a resident of the Community Memorial Health Center in Hartley since September of 2005. She passed away at the health center on Monday, February 18, 2013, reaching the age of 87 years, 6 months and 24 days.
She was baptized on August 7, 1925 at the home of her parents and later confirmed on July 23, 1939. She was a lifelong member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina. She worked with Braille and visited at the nursing home with Dorcus and Ladies Aid.
Helen leaves to cherish her memory, two children, a daughter, Karen and her husband, Duane Willrett of Spencer, Iowa and son, Craig and his wife, Rita Kruger of Paullina, Iowa; four grandchildren, Kristine Willrett and fiancé, Randy Runkel, Kelly and her husband, Scott Pearson, Allison Kruger and fiancé, Pat Monaghan and Eric and his wife, Rachel Kruger; two great grandchildren, Turner Pearson and Jacob Kruger; four sisters, Ida Paulsen of Marcus, Iowa, Irene Massmann and Clara Niebuhr of Paullina and Bernice Bonderman of Veradale, Washington, also other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; her parents, two sisters, Edna Massmann and Mabel Fritz.
