HARRIETT M. FEEKES

Harriett May Feekes, the daughter of Ed and Hattie (Ruish) Sorgdrager was born February 18, 1921 in LeMars, Iowa. She received her education in Plymouth and Sioux Counties. On January 22, 1941 she was united in marriage to Theodore “Ted” Feekes in Alton, Iowa. After their marriage the couple lived in the George, Iowa area before moving to a farm northwest of Sheldon where they farmed for many years. Her husband preceded her in death on September 21, 1961. After his death she moved into Sheldon. For several years she was employed at Montgomery Wards in Sheldon. She remained in the family home until moving to Fieldcrest Assisted Living in Sheldon and in August of 2007 she moved to Sanford Health Center Senior Care. She passed away on Saturday October 17, 2009 at Senior Care in Sheldon reaching the age of 88 years 7 months and 29 days.
She was a member of the Bethel Reformed Church in Sheldon and the RCWM of the church. Harriett enjoyed traveling and was able to travel around the world twice. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and hand work.
Harriett is survived by two sisters Edith Rozeboom of Sheldon and Phyllis Van Wyk of Orange City; also nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her son Kenneth on April 6, 1961, parents and two brother-in-laws Lammert Rozeboom and Gerrit VanWyk.
