GLORIA J. HANSEN
Gloria Jane Hansen, the daughter of Julius and Mabel (Gosch) Luedke was born July 28, 1927 at Hartley, Iowa. She received her education in Hartley schools and graduated from Hartley High School in 1945. She went on to attend Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls, Iowa for one year. She returned to Northwest Iowa and was employed at the Hartley Telephone Office and later at the R.E.C. in Primghar. On June 9, 1954, she was united in marriage to Dale E. Hansen at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hartley. After their marriage the couple settled on the Hansen Family Farm in Center Township where they have resided for many years. Gloria raised their children and helped her husband, Dale on the farm. Dale preceded her in death on December 21, 1998 in Primghar, Iowa. After Dale’s passing, Gloria remained on the family farm that she loved. Gloria passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at the Baum-Harmon Mercy Hospital in Primghar reaching the age of 84 years, 2 months and 7 days.
She was baptized and later confirmed in 1942 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hartley and was currently a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Primghar. All who know Gloria will remember her as a kind, sweet lady. She enjoyed her family, gardening, quilting and her cats.
Gloria leaves to cherish her memory a daughter, Jean and her husband, Mark Zylstra of Humboldt, Iowa; three grandchildren, Nicole, Danielle and Austin Zylstra; a brother and his wife, Lyle and Kathy Luedke of Primghar; three sister-in-laws, June Luedke of Olathe, Kansas; Colleen Luedke of Spencer and Wilma and her husband, Dale Reese of Primghar; also nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Mark on August 25, 2010; her parents and three brothers, Gale, Gordon and Roger.
