GARTH T. HURLEY
Garth Todd Hurley, the son of George and Doris (Otto) Hurley was born February 15, 1962 in Norfolk, Nebraska. Garth attended school and graduated from Paullina High School in 1980. He furthered his education in Telephone Technology in Jackson, Minnesota. On February 14, 1986, he was united in marriage to Candy Max in Yankton, South Dakota. The couple settled in Paullina, Iowa. Garth continued his education at NCC in Sheldon, Iowa and later Briar Cliff College in Sioux City, Iowa in Human Resource Management. He was a member of Phi Theta Kappa. His employment was a truck driver for IBP; maintenance supervisor for Maintainer of Sheldon and before ill health forced his retirement in November of 2011, a milk hauler for AMPI in Sanborn. Garth passed away on Monday, December 22, 2014 at St. Joseph Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota reaching the age of 52 years, 10 months and 7 days.
He was baptized on February 25, 1962 at Zion Lutheran Church in Pierce, Nebraska and confirmed on May 2, 1976 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina, Iowa. Garth was currently a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Germantown, Iowa. He enjoyed his family especially his grandchildren and his dog Maddie. He also enjoyed being a Nebraska Husker football fan, history and fishing.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Candy of Paullina, three children, Patrick Hurley and his fiance, Amber of Paullina; Mandy Hurley and her fiance, Nate Reddick of Sioux City, Iowa; Grant and his wife, Laura Hurley of Boyden, Iowa; two grandchildren, Kaiden and Mercedeez Hurley and another one on the way; two sisters, Treva and her husband, Larry Bonnema of Plattsmouth, Nebraska and Kathan Jager of Sioux City; also other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Doris
