ERVIN C. WITTROCK

Ervin C. Wittrock, the son of Hugo and Clara (Kock) Wittrock was born February 26, 1927 on the family farm in Dale Township of O’Brien County, Iowa. He attended grades 1st through 8th at Dale Township #2 and graduated from Primghar High School in 1945. He was given an early graduation to enlist in the U.S. Navy and served approximately 2 years in the San Diego area. After returning from the service, Erv farmed his father’s ground with his brothers and for the last 25 plus years with his nephews, Marlin and Fred on the Brainard Section. All the ground he farmed was in Dale Township and with John Deere equipment. He moved into Primghar in 1981, with his mother who made her home with him until she moved to the care center. He passed away at his home on Saturday, August 5, 2006, reaching the age of 79 years, 5 months and 9 days.
He was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Evangelical and Reformed Church in Primghar which is now the Primghar Library. He was currently a member of the United Church of Primghar, the Chateau-Thierry Post of the American Legion and the V.F.W. Post of Primghar.
Erv is survived by three brothers, Donald and his wife, Arlene Wittrock, Walter and his wife, Leona Wittrock and Vern and his wife, Ruth Wittrock all of Primghar, Iowa; four sisters, Wilma Rippentrop of Lennox, South Dakota; Helen Hansen and Arlene and her husband, Everett Brown all of Arvada, Colorado; Marge and her husband, Leon Hunt of Primghar, Iowa; also many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugo and Clara and two brothers-in-law, John Hansen and Wessel Rippentrop.
