A Chapter from Abby Schrecks Autobiography
Written March 2016

My Hero

My hero is my dad. He is tough, brave and funny. I dont know a stronger person or someone who cares more about his family. He would do anything for his girls and would never let anyone hurt us. Sometimes I think my friends are afraid of him because he looks and seems scary sometimes. But he isnt. Hes like a big teddy bear. I know that he will always be there for me and will do his best to never let anything happen to me.
My dad has taught me lots of life lessons. He teaches me so much when we are out hunting together. He teaches me to be patient and quiet and wait for the biggest deer to come and not just be greedy and shoot the first one we see. He teaches me to try my hardest at everything I do and not to give up. I know that the older I get he will be my biggest fan.
When I grow up and have a family of my own I hope that I can be as good as parent and role model as my dad. My dad is my hero and I look up to him.
Some characteristics that I think I get from my dad are: being strong-willed, determined and stubborn. My dad will not give up on anything. He keeps trying and trying until he gets it right. My dad doesnt like to be wrong. He has worked hard his whole life to provide for his family and he is very proud of us.
Whenever I need someone to talk to I always know that I can turn to my dad for anything. He always has good advice no matter the situation.
Thanks dad for being my hero! I hope someday that you will be the best grandpa to my kids. I love you!
