CLEO A. KLEIN
Cleo Ann Klein, the daughter of Joe (Buck) and Mary (Thiele) Berning was born on March 7, 1940 in Sioux City, IA. She received her education and graduated from St. Joseph School in Ashton, IA. After graduation she attended Stewarts Beauty College in Sioux City, IA. On April 24, 1963, Cleo was united in marriage to George Klein at St. Marys Catholic Church in Ashton. After their marriage the couple remained in Ashton and began a farming operation while Cleo also ran a beauty shop for several years. After starting their family, Cleo remained at home to raise her children until George opened the Klein Real Estate Agency and Cleo became office manager. The couple moved to Sheldon in July of 2015. Cleo passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2016 at the age of 75 years and 11 months.
Cleo was an active member of the Ashton community for many years, serving in support of St. Marys Catholic Church and the Ashton Catholic Daughters. She loved quilting, cooking, gardening and canning. Family and grandchildren were of utmost importance to Cleo, and her legacy will be felt in the lives of all she touched.
Those left to cherish Cleos memory include her husband and best friend of 52 years, George Klein of Sheldon; her children, son, Tim (Bev) Klein of Wells, MN, with grandchildren, Jamie (Fianc, Charles), Eric, Nicole (Timothy), Brian and Amber; daughter, Reine Klein of Wells, MN; son, Denis (Julie) Klein of South Lake, TX, with grandchildren, Zachery, Cameron, Frances and Nicholas; daughter, Denise (Scott) Parry of LeMars, IA, with grandchildren, Rachel and Emma; son, Ray (Jennifer) Klein of Ames, IA, with grandchildren, Ben and Katherine; daughter, Janelle (Jay) Alberts of Chagrin Falls, OH, with grandchildren, Abby and Grant; and son, Jarett (Kelly) Klein of St. Paul, MN, with grandson, Cooper; along with relatives and friends.
Cleo was preceded in death by a daughter in infancy, Joyce Klein; her parents and a brother, Gerald Berning.

Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon to the George & Cleo Klein Fund.
