Clara Ruth Koehlmoos, the daughter of Charles and Lena (Stroman) Bruns, was born December 12, 1925 in rural Granville, Iowa. She attended country school near the family home near Granville. On September 29, 1945 she was united in marriage to Burnell Koehlmoos at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Germantown. After their marriage the couple moved to Granville to help with the Koehlmoos family farm. In 1948 they moved to Primghar farm in the Dale Township where they farmed for many years. In 1970 the couple moved to Paullina to make their home while continuing to farm near Granville. She passed away on Monday, January 17, 2010 at her home reaching the age of 85 years, 1 month and 5 days.
She was baptized and confirmed on October 31, 1943 at St. John’s Lutheran Church at Germantown, and she was currently a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina. She was a 35 year member of the Ladies Aid of the church and the Rosedale Club. Clara loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; she enjoyed to dance, bake, teach Braille, grow flowers, and especially cards as she was involved with numerous card clubs.
She is survived by her husband Burnell of 65 years, one son Curtis and his wife Cindy Koehlmoos of Springfield, Nebraska; three grandchildren, Jairren Anthony and fiance Brett Flodine, Jessica Koehlmoos and fiance Jeff Fitzgerald, and Jason Koehlmoos and his wife Jennifer; four great-grandchildren, Andrew, Matthew, and Christopher Koehlmoos, and Jackson Anthony; three brothers, Richard Bruns of Paullina, Charles and his wife Evelyn Bruns of Primghar, Iowa, and Dennis and his wife Janet Bruns of Alton, Iowa; and one sister Betty Brotherton of Paullina, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Leo Bruns and Ralph Bruns; and two brothers-in-law, Vernell Hoermann, and Darrell Brotherton.
