ARTHUR RAYMOND “RAY” MOUW
Arthur Raymond “Ray” Mouw, the son of Arthur and Jeanette (Hyink) Mouw was born on July 22, 1924 on the family farm south of Ashton, Iowa. He received his education in a country school in the Newkirk area. He resided for many years with his parents on the family farm north of Newkirk, Iowa. In 1990, he became a resident of the Village Northwest in Sheldon, where he resided until January of 2008 when he moved to Sanford Health Center Senior Care. He passed away at Senior Care on Saturday, May 31, 2008 reaching the age of 83 years, 10 months and 9 days.
Ray was a member of the Newkirk Reformed Church and enjoyed horses, fishing, polka music, pheasant hunting, being on the family farm and driving around on his Allis Chalmers tractor.
Ray is survived by seven sisters, Betty and her husband, Don Pekelder of Gun Lake, Michigan; Irene Kruger of Lake Park, Iowa; Bernice Van Zyl of St. Paul Minnesota; Loretta Dykstra of Lenox, South Dakota; Lorraine and her husband, Loren Eickoff of Grinnell, Iowa; Sharon and her husband, Russell Doorenbos of Boyden, Iowa and Ardis and her husband, Fred Grein of Sheldon, Iowa; also nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers-in-law, Fred Van Zyl; Herman Kruger and Norman Dykstra; and one nephew.
