ARNOLD W. KLEIN
Arnold William Klein, the son of Peter and Matilda (Robinet) Klein, was born June 23, 1935 in Hospers, Iowa. He received his education in country schools. On November 12, 1971, he was united in marriage to Margaret Hofstra at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sheldon, Iowa. After their marriage the couple lived in Hospers and Sheldon for a few years before moving to Paullina in 1984. Arnie was engaged in farming and working as a farmhand near Paullina for Howard Crouse, Mark Goosen and Dave Olson before his retirement. He passed away on Sunday, September 12, 2006 at the Baum-Harmon Mercy Hospital in Primghar, after being stricken at his home, reaching the age of 71 years, 2 months and 24 days.
Arnie was of the Catholic faith. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, sitting on his front porch and playing with the family dog, Chester.
Arnie leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Margaret of Paullina; a son, Arlyn Klein of Paullina, Iowa; two daughters, Melissa Klein and Trisha and her husband, Ryan Dau all of Paullina, Iowa; two brothers, Gerald Klein and Jerome and his wife, Rita Klein all of Hospers, Iowa; three sisters, Francis Schnurr of Sheldon, Iowa; Esther Gergen of Sanborn, Iowa and Rosella and her husband, Gerald Croatt of Sioux Center, Iowa; also other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law, Margaret Klein; two brothers-in-law, Ray Schnurr and Leo Gergen.
