ADELINE SCHIPPER
Adeline Schipper, the daughter of James and Cecile (Meacham) Libolt was born August 5, 1918 near Eagle Butte, South Dakota. She attended country school and graduated from high school at Brook Consolidated and later attended Buena Vista College in Storm Lake for one year. She did substitute teaching, sold Avon and clerked in different towns. She was united in marriage to Ted Schipper on August 18, 1940 at her parent's ranch near Custer, South Dakota. After their marriage Ted worked for the railroad and the couple lived in Peterson and Paullina, Iowa, Blue Earth, Minnesota, Belle Plaine, Iowa, St. Paul, Minnesota, Oskaloosa, Iowa, Spooner, Wisconsin and retired in Escanaba, Michigan. After retiring the couple moved to Oconto, Wisconsin for the summers and wintered in Weslaco, Texas. The couple moved to Paullina in 1991. Adeline and Ted spent many happy years in Paullina and moved to the Heartland Care Center in August of 2010. She passed away at Heartland on Monday, April 23, 2012 reaching the age of 93 years, 8 months and 18 days.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Paullina, the American Legion Auxiliary of Paullina; the VFW Auxiliary of Granville and was in the Lioness Club in Weslaco, Texas for 10 years. Adeline was baptized at the Christian Church in Cherokee, and her church continued to be an important part of her life as she taught Sunday School and Bible School. She enjoyed arts and crafts, especially oil painting.
Adeline is survived by her husband, Ted of Marcus; their children, Sandra Schipper of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Dennis and his wife, Marilyn Schipper of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Bill Schipper of Arvada, Colorado; a daughter-in-law, Marvis Schipper of Crystal Lake, Illinois; grandchildren, Cathy, Bradley, Chad, Sara, Preston, Colin, Austin and Erin and great grandchildren, Rain, Elizabeth, Rebecca, Douglas, Star and Alex; two sisters, Lois Babcock in Colorado and Alberta Schneider of Rapid City, South Dakota; also other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by a son, Douglas in 1985; her parents, three brothers and three sisters.
